World’s Oldest Fiancée: Valda Finds Love Again at 106
Love has no expiration date, and Valdemira “Valda” Rodrigues de Oliveira is living proof. At 106, she proudly holds the title of the world’s oldest fiancée, happily engaged to Aparecido “Jaco” Dias Jacob, 66. Their age gap of 40 years means nothing to them—the two met at a nursing home in Brazil three years ago and have been inseparable ever since.
“I fell in love with him. I like him a lot. If he dies, I die too,” Valda confessed with a smile. Jaco feels the same: “I fell in love with Valda the moment I saw her. She makes me really happy.”
Although doctors warned them against marriage due to health risks, their love couldn’t be stopped. With the help of Project of Dreams, the nursing home organized a magical engagement party. Over 150 guests attended, enjoying music, dancing, and a towering four-tier cake.
Valda, dressed elegantly in pearls and a soft gray gown, looked radiant as she exchanged rings with Jaco, who stood proudly in a suit and tie. Their night ended with a kiss that sealed a promise stronger than any paperwork.
For Valda, marriage may remain a dream, but engagement is more than enough. “I wanted to take care of Jaco like a wife,” she said, while he added, “This is our step forward.”
Their story is a timeless reminder: love knows no age limit.
